Is his team from here going out there, or is he actually playing for Corinthians?

One of the funniest things I have seen was early 80s we were playing Newcastle away

Parkes was running up towards the Gallowgate end 80% of the end was applauding him , Phil waves back to them and they all gave him the wanker sign

Parkes was pissing himself laughing so were most of us

I was in Portugal when we beat Germany away 5-1 and was sitting with a mixture of Germans and English. Got back to my hotel and one of the Germans was at the bar with his wife. He was from Frankfurt and bought me drinks for the rest of the holiday. Class!

I remember a few years back at Anfield, Shaka running towards the kop for the 2nd half and got a fantastic reception from their fans.

I've always applauded the away keeper and thinks it's good that those in the BML usually do and it's always nice to see the goalie acknowledge.

As somebody said earlier - old school

What a load of bollocks, and you state it so matter of factly

Actually from the mouths of Everton supporters themselves.including one who called into TS last night after the match.
Now admit you're a rude littleboy..matter of factly !

Re: Applauding oppo goalie
Bartez did it for Man Utd in a 2.2. Applauded and got it back from the bobby Moore lower at start of 2nd half, then when PDC scored our first, he runs to get the ball and Bartez smashes it into the West Stand. Got fucking abuse for the rest of the game.

Always used to do this when I sat in the BML.

Disgusting applauding a opposition player should be on them for 90 mins simple as that

Re: Applauding oppo goalie
I remember seeing Brum at our place in 2002 or so. Maik Taylor applauded the Bobby Moore Stand as he took his place for the 2nd half and got applause back. It struck me then as an old-fashioned, very English thing to do. It's very rare these days.

Dusts off rattle...

Re: Applauding oppo goalie
I agree that Everton have a classier support than their neighbours [ Tranmere ? ].
The reason Adrian was treated so respectfully, though, goes back to the Di Canio moment when he caught the ball rather than score when Toffee Keeper was injured, in 2000.
Everton fans still remember that and have what they see as some kind of continuing affinity to us - much like a Charlton/ Sunderland Love-In from their pen shootout PlayOff match years back.

I remember the bradford keeper singing bubbles before kick off, at the BM end. Was a 1.1 game, Carbonie scored at the death.

I always thought it was a touch of class from the fans, is it still done at West Ham?
